This is the sister company as Kan's Artisan Pizza...and just like the pizza place the bakery also has a line to get in! But let me tell you it's worth the wait! The bread is phenomenal! Along with its baked goods! We also loved the coffee! We brought home to Seattle with us a loaf of the ciabatta bread to make sandwiches because it was so yummy! Hope it lasts! We keep cutting off slices and just eating it plain! I guess that means we just have to go back to Portland!

Service: 6/10 good Ambiance: 5/10 just your every day bakery Food: 8/10 Ham & Cheese Croissant: 10/10 best I've ever had. The Gruyère was amazing. So buttery! So good. A must get. Goat Cheese & Leek: 8/10 while I didn't get a ton of the goat cheese flavor I wanted, I really enjoyed the flavor of this croissant. The salty cheese on top went so well with it (I believe that was parm). Morning Bun: 6/10 buttery, very orange-y, fantastic caramelization but not a huge fan of the turbanado sugar on top although did add good texture.

Ken's is hands down one of my favorite bakeries in Portland. It's one of the best... hard to beat the homemade baked goods and their specialties. It's a staple when people come to visit. I make sure that Ken's is a place we stop by. My go to is their Goat Cheese Leek Croissant. Truly you can't go wrong. Anything you get from Ken's is going to be delicious. Note that there usually a line (yes, it's that popular). There is limited seating, but nice to take your goods and walk around the neighborhood.

Kens is cute. I really liked the atmosphere of just a home town bakery and the wooden tables and open view of the baking area was nice. I love all the giant bread you can see for sale in the back. We got there early on a Saturday morning because places like this can get busy quickly and I'm pleased to say that the entire time we were there the line never got out of hand. Clearly this place is attuned not only to the baking but also the business and customer service. We tried a bunch of different things including the profiteroles, quiche, galette, and two tarts. The lemon tart was the favorite of everyone at the table and I added a picture of the tart display case becasue they all had edible flowers and were so cute! I'm really glad that I finally got to try this Portland icon, next on my list is the pizzeria.

One of the premier bakeries in town. Today I purchased Ken's Artisan Brown and the Walnut Baguette. Both are amazing and delicious breads. Service is fast, friendly and efficient.

Amazing service and food to match! I ordered the Croque Madame and thought it was amazing. Perfect if you're especially hungry! It was a LOT of bread so i ate around it a bit and took off some of the cheese and ham and cheese alone, but it's definitely a hefty portion if you're having it with any accompaniments. The bread was delicious, don't get me wrong- only took a lot of it off because I had a pastry as well. My friend had the quiche and I thought it was delicious as well. It was vegetarian but somehow reminded me of the flavor in a chicken pot pie? Either way I was a fan of it, as was she. For pastries, I got the mini chocolate caramel croissant and thought it was the perfect flavor, texture, and amount of food. The croissant had the crispy outer layer and a rich, buttery, and soft inner layer. If you're getting something else or feeling peckish, I'd recommend this size over the standard size. My friend got the passion fruit swirl and although it was too tart for my liking, she was very happy with her choice. The coffees are great and we both opted for vanilla lattes because they make their vanilla in house- and you can tell. It's very good! Service is outstanding. The woman taking my order couldn't have been friendlier and let me pre order my lunch sandwich at 9:55 even though they are served after 10. The woman making the coffees heard me mention to my friend that i forgot to say iced when I was ordering the latte- and she kindly interrupted to tell me she can make it iced just in time! Ambience was casual and very Portland. Will be back when I visit Oregon next!!

Waited in line for about 30 minutes. We ordered the goat cheese and leek croissant and the Oregon croissant. Lives up to the hype. The pastries here are so delicate and not heavy. The Oregon croissant had an addicting filling with berries and cream. The goat cheese and leek croissant is a great choice for those who prefer a savory morning pastry. Most people take out so it was not difficult grabbing a window seat to dine in!

Was it worth the wait to stand in line outdoors in less than 40 degree cold weather?! Yes! This place is one of the top bakeries and sandwich place in Portland, Oregon. I came back for the Palmiers and walked out with a box of pastries and two delicious sandwiches. Ken's Bakery draws you in with the fresh baked aroma wafting through the front door. Inside the heated interior, you will find tables and chairs to enjoy your meal and/or pastries. The atmosphere is noisy with the happy sound of patrons here. Expect a line out the door in the opening hours. A must stop place when visiting Portland, Oregon! Prices vary. Expect to pay for quality and deliciousness here!

Baked goods: 4.5 out of 5 I ordered a baguette and croissant with leeks, gruyere & goat cheese. Fantastic quality! The croissant was savory, flavorful, & had all the flaky layers that I love. Pro tip: eat like the French and devour the entire baguette the same day or else... Service: N/A Ordered my baked goodies to go; however, they were a well oiled machine, especially with the line out the door. Environment: 4 out of 5 Busy cafe even during weekdays. Glad to see they are expanding this store front. Higher end price point, but worth the price tag. Overall: 4.25 out of 5 Located in the Alphabet district of Portland, Ken's serves handcrafted products with quality ingredients. I enjoyed my morning stroll from the Pearl district especially because of all of the foliage at the time I came to visit. A well known bakery amongst the locals which you simply must to when in Portland!

Quick Summary - Went there in the early morning but there was a line - Small space but the bakery used any available space they had inside for seating area - The sandwich menu is not available upon opening; it starts an hour or so later It was in the early morning when we decided to eat here for breakfast. It is located in a long brick building, Our goal was to eat their sandwich, but it had unexpected twist: we were too early. The bakery doors were open at the shown time on yelp, but the sandwich menu was not ready until a later time. We were fortunate that we reached for the sandwich menu while we were in line to discover the timeline. We took a walk around the block and explored grocery stores in the area -- it's a fun street with unique stores to browse while letting time pass. As the time grew closer, it was also way past my hunger state, and close to "I have no more energy to walk anymore," so we made our way back to the bakery. We ordered two things: a soup and a sandwich. The bakery interior is cozy but in another lens, it's compact. Tables and chairs cover any available space the space offered. While it was during the busiest hour (lunch) the seating turnover was nice, when we were ordering the spots opened up. The egg salad sandwich was delicious; I love how it came with the side of pickles and red onions. Adding different textures to the soft and creamy egg salad sandwich is a delight.
